Tai Chi

So Hank wanted to visit my work last night, so I indulged him. We ended up coming back in for the night Tai Chi class, he wanted to come in and be at a real class. Anyway he was absolutely adorable. He sat in the little circle and was totally captivated while the instructor was talking. Then when we started the warm ups he went up to the front of the class and stood facing the instructor so he could follow along. He did a really good job and even closed his eyes for a few minutes to help with his concentrating. I am absolutely loving that Hank enjoys learning about it as much as I do. He also thinks it is totally cool that the Mystic Force power rangers also meditate. Maybe I can see if he would for a few minutes. Anyway he wanted to see if our instructor could float above the water, because that is what happened on the power rangers. He was also very good which was so nice. I don't think I have ever been more proud of him then I was last night.

Hold the button - Stupid but funny!

How Long Can You Hold It?

My time was somewhere around:

45 minutes and 17 seconds!

Classes

So it has been awhile since I posted about school....
History class is going OK. I am having a hard time with forcing myself to actually do all the readings, but we have a final exam so I am trying. I had to write a paper about 1950's music it was pretty interesting and I got to listen to some Elvis and Sinatra so that is ok.

Energy Essentials - I LOVE THIS CLASS! We have been learning how to meditate, and work on other people using the energy forces. It is totally calming and a blast. Last night we went on Shamanic Journeys which were fun. And our instructor played a drum and it was the coolest sound.

Anatomy - I am struggling this past couple of weeks in this class. Although I am having fun teaching Hank about the bones and muscles. We are now studying the Nervous and Endocrine system. My brain is having a harder time wrapping around these concepts.

Tai Chi - This is a blast. Hank also thinks it is pretty cool that I am learning how to fight.

Last night when I went to leave class my car battery was totally dead. I was lucky that one of the students was super nice, and her husband is way cool! He had given her one of those tools that starts cars, it also has a built in air compressor. Anyway we were able to hook it up to my car for just a few minutes and then bingo it started! After I drove the whole mile to my house I wanted to let it run for a little bit longer. It was a beautiful night so I practiced my Tai Chi on the grass on the side of the house. I am sure that anybody who saw me out there at eleven at night were probably thinking I was totally crazy!

Spring Term

Well the Spring term at Myotherapy College starts tonight. My class at University of Phoenix also starts tonight. That class is called State and Political Practices. You would think that since I am still considering the Model of Congress that I would rather go there to that class! I have to play the absences game this term, how many can I have in each class and still have it not effect my grade. So I will be missing University of Phoenix tonight so I can attend Myotherapy. It will all work out eventually.

My classes for Spring term are:
Anatomy & Physiology which is Mon, Wed, Thurs from 6:50PM-8:35 PM
Energy Essentials which is Monday from 8:45 PM- 10:30 PM
Tai Chi I which is Tuesday from 1:15 PM-3:00PM

Then I have at University of Phoenix
State and Political Practices May 17th-April 14th
Chemical Dependency in the Workplace April 21st -May 19th
Creative Minds and Critical Thinking June 2nd - June 30th

So it looks like a busy couple of months coming up. Through it all though I am learning that I can reach for my goals and still balance my life.

Done with Shiatsu

So I finished taking my Shiatsu exam last night. It was fun (sort of). Well at least I can say that I passed Reflexology and Shiatsu so for that I am excited. I will not reveal my grades, those are not the best. But I am proud of what I have been able to balance and learn over the past ten weeks. The next term starts on Monday so I am figuring that one out today! At least I am showing Hank that education is very important.

Massage Practice

So I spent tonight practicing my massage on my mom. I don't think that she enjoyed it too much. I know I hurt her a few times, and really didn't mean to. I hope that I get better at this at some point.

Hank then gave me a massage, he is so cute! And he actually gave me a good massage, he started with my toes. He was sad because I told him we had to go. When we got home which was already midnight he wanted to finish the massage. I love him!

Anyway guess tomorrow I will end up getting the rest of my massage.

Reflexology Written Final

So I had my first final at Myotherapy on Tuesday night. It was a written final in Reflexology. I was so afraid I was going to fail... I did ok, only missed eight questions. Which is still passing. I have to learn the bones of the body so I can do better in my other classes.

Tonight is our hands on demonstration in Shiatsu and we get our take home final for that class. I am learning so much it just seems like the classes should be longer.
